When a Walk Turned Into a Community

When a Walk Turned Into a Community Practicing in Silence All this while, my YouTube yoga adventures were happening in the UAE, where my son lives. During Covid, when restrictions eased just a little, I finally managed to step out for walks and later—practice yoga under the open sky. Everything around looked dead quiet. The streets were still, the air heavy. Sometimes the only sound piercing the silence was the sharp fire alarm from building mock drills. I stayed in Tower 7 of a cluster of 14 tall towers. That open space at the base became my yoga studio. With no yoga mat, I simply rolled out a thick sheet of cloth and began moving, breathing, and grounding myself. Curious Eyes from Balconies On odd days, I noticed women peeking from their balconies. Slowly, they started stepping out too. Maybe they were gathering courage after watching me. Maybe they just needed a sign that it was safe to begin again. Those eyes carried many unspoken questions. Those glances were silent conversations. And one day, curiosity turned into connection. From Solitude to Togetherness Two women finally approached me with shy smiles:“Can we join you?” I was not a yoga teacher then—only self-taught, holding onto yoga like a lifeline. But I welcomed them warmly. And then, something magical happened…2 became 3.3 became 5.Then 7, 8, and soon a small community of women—nearly a dozen—joined me on that open ground. Women who once feared stepping out were now rolling mats, breathing deeply, and finding strength together. A Beautiful Realization I never set out to teach. I was simply practicing for myself. But somehow, by just walking out and showing up, I had unknowingly inspired others. ✨ And that’s when I realized:“I walked, and the world walked with me.” To Be Continued… This was just the beginning of something bigger. Stay with me in the next blog, where I’ll share how this small group of women gave me the courage to truly step into the role of a yoga teacher. FAQ Do I need to be flexible to start yoga? My Yoga Journey: From Beginner to Teacher

My Yoga Journey: From Scratch to Success The Beginning: Covid & Uncertainty Covid times were testing times for all of us. The fear, the isolation, and the uncertainty around health and future weighed heavily. Like many, I felt the shadow of negativity around me. But instead of giving in, I made a promise to myself: I will not sit idle. I will evolve. I will learn something that strengthens my mind and body. That’s when I turned to something I barely knew—yoga. First Baby Steps into Yoga My journey started in the simplest way: by following basic yoga videos on YouTube. I didn’t know the depth of yoga. To me, it was just “some stretches and breathing.” Yet every time I practiced—even if it was just a few light movements—I noticed something subtle: First Baby Steps into Yoga I began my yoga journey by following basic videos on YouTube. Initially, yoga seemed like mere stretches and breathing exercises. However, with each session, I noticed subtle yet profound changes My mind felt calmer. My body felt lighter. My heart carried less fear. It wasn’t about achieving perfect poses but about showing up, moving, and breathing with awareness. Building a Routine What started as random attempts soon became a routine.I rolled out my mat every day, even on days when I felt lazy or uninspired.Yoga became my anchor—a way to stay grounded and positive while the world outside felt chaotic.I didn’t know it then, but this was my first baby step on a lifelong path. Transformation Over Time Slowly, yoga stopped being just “exercise” for me. A friend, when I needed comfort. A teacher, showing me patience and discipline. A healer, calming my GERD and stress. Each practice added a layer of strength, confidence, and peace. From Learner to Teacher What began as a way to “just stay active” blossomed into a deep passion.I went from being a complete beginner during Covid to becoming a yoga teacher—guiding others on their own journeys of health, balance, and inner peace. Today, I feel proud when I see my students discover the same joy that I once stumbled upon. Final Thought When I look back, I smile at how it all began—with just a few simple movements and a desire not to give up during tough times. 💡 If there’s one thing I’d love you to take away from my story, it’s this:You don’t need to be flexible or knowledgeable to start yoga. You just need the willingness to take the first step. Who knows? That first step might just change your life the way it changed mine. 🌸 Recent Posts All Post Yoga testing October 5, 2025 New Beginnings September 28, 2025 When a Walk Turned Into a Community September 28, 2025 Need Help Right Away?
